MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN TODAY
As long as injustice & inequality persist, none of us can truly rest. It doesn’t take much to make change happen. And one way is to support pro-equality candidates in South Carolina and vote. Get in touch today and start making the difference.
WHY WE NEED TO ELECT PRO EQUALITY CANDIDATES
Currently there are no laws protecting 137,000 LGBTQ South Carolinians from discrimination in the workplace, housing and public accommodations.

SC Equality PAC
Welcome to SC Equality PAC. Our endorsements for the 2018 elections are now available. Electing pro-equality candidates to public office across the state is now more important than ever.
With the current threats from Washington to repeal recent LGBTQ victories, we are doing everything we can to continue to advance equality here at home.
We want to keep LGBTQ young people safe in our schools, to ensure that transgender people have access to accurate identity documents and critical health care services, and to ensure that LGBTQ persons are protected in the workplace and in public accommodations.
WE are seeking not only legal equality, but lived equality by electing people to office who support justice by passing fair and just laws that protect LGBTQ South Carolinians.
SC Equality PAC endorses James Smith for Governor.
A long-time champion for LGBTQ equality in the SC House of Representatives, James Smith has been outspoken vocal supporter and advocate for SC Equality. He recognizes that all South Carolinians deserve the same rights in our state and understands the critical need for legislation protecting LGBTQ South Carolinians in the workplace, housing and public accommodations. This past legislative session, he sponsored H-3891 “Workplace Freedom Act”, which sought to establish protections for LGBTQ employees and continues to fight against all discriminatory anti-LGBTQ bills filed at the state house.
“All men are created equal. Now matter how hard they try, they can never erase those words. That is what America is about.”
-Harvey Milk
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Elect Pro Equality Candidates
Each election cycle provides us the important opportunity to help elect candidates who will work to achieve full LGBTQ equality in our state. Helping to elect pro-LGBTQ candidates is one of the most important things we do.

If the LGBT community doesn’t come out to vote, they forfeit the opportunity to impact change. With the passing of anti-LGBT legislation throughout the South and the imminent threat of a Donald Trump presidency, our votes count now more than ever. Register to Vote!

Winning Elections
With President Trump facing low approval ratings, signs continue to point to a political wave against him in this year’s mid-term elections — and pro LGBT candidates are hoping to benefit.

Changing Hearts and Minds
There were many forces that led to the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2015 decision making marriage equality the law of the land: tenacious leaders and litigators, coalitions of diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organizations, straight allies, elected officials, celebrities, and most important, hundreds of thousands of individuals, couples and families at the grassroots working for change.
